The Associate Vice Chancellor for External Affairs serves as a member of the Division of Athletics and Recreations Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Athletics, Recreation, and Ritchie Center Operations. The Associate Vice Chancellor is a key fundraiser and leader who will manage a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects. This position is also responsible for strategic direction, oversight, coordination, leadership, and active participation in the revenue generating and external functions of the Division.
•Engage philanthropic support for Athletics and Recreation and will also serve as a collaborative partner to advancement staff in other schools, colleges, and units across the DU campus. •Develop meaningful and productive relationships with a portfolio of major and principal gift donors including alumni, friends and parents. •Collaborate with the Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Recreation, the Vice Chancellor for Advancement, and other senior university administrators to determine and implement institutional fundraising priorities, establish short and long-term strategies, and monitor progress toward goals. •Engage in the advancement goal-setting process for Athletics and Recreation fundraising and engagement metrics. •Oversee the Division’s annual fund campaign. •Manage the Athletics and Recreation advancement operating budget, including assisting in budget modeling and forecasting processes. •Accountable for the progressive strategies, goals, and objectives of the Department’s key external areas, including development, marketing and promotions, branding, ticket sales, communications, public relations, media relations and sports information. •Oversee the technical services area. •Provide integral direction and leadership of marketing, promotions and creative teams to generate strategic sales and media campaigns to meet revenue goals and initiatives. •Manage the fan experience at all venues and oversee the Division of Athletics and Recreation's communications including public relations, sports information, social media and website. •Serve as liaison to multi-media rights partners, along with the Division’s Chief Financial Officer. •Serve as the liaison to the Office of University Advancement.
