The Detroit Metro Sports Commission is hiring a Sales Manager to focus on sales development for all sports related events within the assigned market segment. This role requires execution of all phases of the sales process in addition to regular travel for sales trips, trade shows, bid presentation, and site visits.
The Detroit Sports Commission is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, a company with a nearly 120 years of history of selling and marketing the Detroit region (tri-county) as a destination for meetings, conventions and leisure travel.
As a member of the Sports Commission team, you will have the opportunity to influence operations that further the mission of the DSC and be part of a company designated as a Top Workplace by the Detroit Free Press for the past 3 years. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Sports Management and/or Marketing and a minimum of 2 years sales experience in the sports event tourism market.
