The University of Missouri is seeking qualified candidates to fill multiple Graduate Assistantship positions in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Reporting to the Mizzou Made athletics academic support staff, the graduate assistant will work in all facets of student-athlete academic support services. Academic graduate assistant responsibilities will include mentoring student-athletes, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, assisting with coordinating/supervising study halls as a learning supervisor, assisting in on-campus recruiting, assisting in hiring and scheduling tutors, preparing academic reports and assessments, and other duties as assigned by the athletics academic staff. Two (2) Graduate Assistant positions will be available with a start date of January 9, 2017 with both offering a tuition waiver and monthly stipend; application deadline will be November 4, 2016. Additionally, five (5) positions will be available with a start date of June 3, 2017 with application deadline of January 2, 2017 Appointments will be reviewed annually, and comparable funding and duties are available for summer. Bachelor's degree required in an appropriate discipline, a background in athletics and an intent to work in the field of student-athlete academic services, excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong self-starter, excellent organizational skills, great attention to detail. As working in the field of athletics academic services is not limited to a traditional work week, the successful candidate must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
