| This position reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs and assists with the day-to-day operations and projects for all Sacred Heart University-owned athletic facilities as they relate to Varsity Athletics. |
Duties include: Hire, train and supervise student workers performing set up, maintenance and cleanup activities.
Administer the day-to-day operations of the on-campus athletic complex for varsity athletics. Serve as athletics liaison with Campus Operations staff and initiate facility repair requests and monitor the quality of services provided.
Coordinate building shutdown and other interruptions to ensure the least impact on athletic facility activities.
Work with varsity coaches and Athletics personnel to resolve conflicts of practice and competition schedules, facility issues and concerns.
Assist with game day administration for major revenue-generating athletic events.
Complete certification in National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) preparedness component to serve as athletics designee in unified command post at athletics and special events.
Plan, organize and coordinate several components of the events such as spectator transportation, hospitality tailgates and stadium clean up.
Supervise event staff and serve as game day administrator for all ticketed on-campus varsity sports (Football, M/W Basketball and Men's Lacrosse).
Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in the mitigation of problems and situations that arise during events to include: media access, concession operations, parking, and security.
Supervise security, parking and event personnel.
Meet regularly with coaches and other Athletics personnel to assess event needs and requirements.
Purchase equipment, material, supplies and services for use in facilities (e.g., padding, goals, netting, etc.) and meet with vendors and recommend suppliers for needed supplies and services (e.g., video boards, sound systems, turf maintenance, etc.)
Serve as athletics liaison with summer camp and clinic programs that are conducted by the varsity coaches.
Determine scheduling priority, coordinate set-up and removal of equipment, and supervise grounds crew and other logistics.
