Fort Valley State University is accepting applications for an Athletic Trainer.
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing care to intercollegiate student-athletes for eleven sports teams at Fort Valley State University (FVSU). Specifically, the Athletic Trainer will: attend practices and games, recognize and evaluates injuries, apply protective or injury-preventive devices such as tape, bandages, and braces, provide first aid or emergency care; develop and carry-out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes, administer treatment as ordered by the University physician, travel with athletic teams in order to be available at sporting events, refer the student-athlete to the University physician for medical attention in the event of a major injury or illness, abide and comply with all applicable NCAA, SIAC, and FVSU policies, rules and regulations, perform other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Certification and must either possess or be eligible for Georgia License
Valid Driver’s License
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and SIAC rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility and related functions
A working knowledge of common medical terminology
Excellent time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
CPR/AED Instructor Certification
Experience working at the collegiate level
