Manager of Sport Facilities & Event Management
Towson University is seeking a Manager of Sport Facilities and Event Management to assist with the management of all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities including the Towson Center, SECU Arena, Johnny Unitas Stadium, Field House, and other competition and practice venues. This includes daily upkeep in conjunction with other support areas in the department and on campus.
The Manager of Sports Facilities and Event Management will assist in the event management of football and men's basketball. The Manager will also have direct responsibility for the event management of volleyball, gymnastics, and women's lacrosse. This includes supervision of student/contractual staff, event set-up/breakdown, crowd control, and other administrative duties. This requires coordination of and communication related to organizational operations meetings. Additional responsibilities include the management of special facility and maintenance projects as assigned by the Assistant Director of Sport Facilities & Event Management and management of the department's key database; including coordination of key card access for staff and student-athletes which requires compliance in the university audit process. The Manager will assist in the management of the facilities & event management operating budget; including responsibility for a university procurement card that goes through audit process.
Bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience required. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, writing, and communications skills and have the ability to work independently and be an effective team leader and team member. Additionally strong computer skills are needed to be effective in the position. Working knowledge of scheduling and handling of sports events is preferred; particularly experience working in an intercollegiate athletic department within Facilities and/or Events realm, preferably at managerial level. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet departmental needs.
