We are seeking a dynamic team player to join our staff that has a passion for collegiate athletics and enjoys working with student-athletes and coaches. The Assistant/Associate Director of Sports Medicine will primarily oversee Women’s Basketball, perform administrative duties and have other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. Title of this position will be determined based on qualifications. Should you possess the qualifications for the Associate title, you will be the primary supervisor for the Sports Medicine Department. As well, pending performance, you may be on the fast track to be named the Director of Sports Medicine and coordinate sport assignments according.
Additionally, the Assistant/Associate Director of Sports Medicine will work in conjunction with our staff of Athletic Trainers, Graduate Assistants, Team Physicians & consultants, along with our Strength & Conditioning staff with the goal of building top performing student-athletes and creating an inviting environment from a student-athlete welfare perspective.
If the following checklist sounds like you…then send us your credentials: • Energetic and outgoing personality with a minimum of a Master’s Degree • NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers’ Board of Certification) and Athletic Training Licensure by the State of Michigan (may be obtained upon hire) • For the Assistant: post graduate Master’s Degree to 5 years’ experience at the collegiate setting • For the Associate or consideration as the Director: minimum of 5 years’ experience at the collegiate setting with administrative and supervisory responsibilities. • Appreciation of the student-athlete experience, being a team player on and off campus and have selfless energy for the department and well-being of the student-athlete. • Embrace the importance of effective communication and solid documentation skill. • Understanding of long work days and extensive travel and a commitment to knowing what it takes to make a difference in staff and student-athlete’s lives. • A great sense of humor and a positive outlook on life is a must
