The Ticket Sales & Service Assistant Intern works in the ticket office of the Al McGuire Center and is responsible for all facets of ticket sales to Marquette University athletic events, including executing a plan to meet or exceed annual sales goals. This position will focus on increasing season tickets, student tickets, partial plans, group tickets and individual game tickets, as assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Sales & Strategy. The Ticket Sales & Service Assistant is also responsible for assisting with the ticket operations efforts of the athletics department and must exhibit excellent customer service skills as the preferred candidate will be the primary contact for the public at the Marquette ticket office.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Sell ticket packages and develop new customers by selling season, mini-plans and group packages for all ticketed sports, with an emphasis placed on men’s basketball. 2. Assist with the development and execution of departmental sales and marketing strategies 3. Manage, create and track sales databases as well as develop call scripts 4. Make outbound calls daily regarding ticket packages 5. Grow sales each week by soliciting new business leads 6. Maintain records of customer accounts and facilitate order entry through Archtics/Ticketmaster ticketing software 7. Assist with supervision of Marquette student sales associates and Marquette ticket office student workers 8. Produce daily reports for Athletics Business Office that include daily deposit, method of payment and credit card report 9. Assist with management of ticket office email account and phone calls into ticket office 10. Ticket office manager on duty for all ticketed sporting events, except Men’s Basketball 11. Work with Blue & Gold Fund/University Advancement on daily donation report and priority points report 12. Assist with annual reseating exercise 13. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration, Business or related field • Desire to work in the sports sales industry or the ticket and events division of collegiate athletics • Strong communication, listening and organizational skills required • Computer proficient (Microsoft Word and Excel) and detail-oriented • Working knowledge of Ticketmaster software, especially Archtics, and all social media sites for lead generation. • Extensive evening and weekend hours required • Consistently conduct business in a professional manner, including dress and manner of speaking/writing when dealing with donors, alumni, students, season ticket holders, etc.
