Job Description Summary:
Selected applicants will be interviewed to be the Head Softball Coach of the intercollegiate Women's Softball Program for the Spring 2017 season. This full time temporary position will also include teaching classes within the Kinesiology Division. This position includes the oversight og all coaching responsibilities, including recruitment, travel, scheduling, budget oversight, fundraising, and attending required Cuesta and conference meetings, which are compensated with a stipend. Assignments may be day, evening or weekend classes at the San Luis Obispo Campus, the North County Campus, Arroyo Grande High School, Nipomo High School or other sites within San Luis Obispo County.
Essential Functions & Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Kinesiology, physical education, exercise science,education with an emphasis in physical education, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education;
- Bachelor's degree in any of the above; AND
- Master's degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy
-The equivalent (candidates making application on the basis of equivalency must submit all materials requested for an equivalency judgment, indicated on the Equivalency Process link).
-A valid Community College credential in the discipline
-Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Past experience in softball coaching at the high school, college or professional level;
- Current Class B Driver's License (successful candidate will be given time to obtain prior to employment);
- Teaching experience in the discipline, community college level preferred;
-Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community Colleges.

This position is a full time temporary position effective for the Spring 2017 semester.

Interview Process Information:
Applicants will be required to attend an interview and teaching demonstration/ presentation Monday, November 14, 2016 and/or Tuesday, November 15, 2016.
2nd interviews will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016. Attendance will be required at our San Luis Obispo Campus.
