Marshall University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Athletic Marketing Assistant. Primary responsibilities of this position include developing and implementing marketing/promotional plans for assigned Olympic Sports; overseeing coordination and management as it relates to game presentation/fan experience for assigned Olympic sporting events; design of digital and printed promotional materials; securing sponsorships for several Olympic sports and special athletic department events; and helping to manage and produce content for Marshall Athletics social media accounts on various platforms. This individual is responsible for creating print and digital promotional materials for athletic teams, and areas within Athletics such as ticket sales and service, event presentation, event management, development and communications. This individual creates inspiring, innovative visuals that must balance the needs of all Marshall Athletics' audiences and will collaborate with the External Relations team to set direction on annual creative themes to carry across all departmental and multimedia assets.
Required qualifications to include a Bachelor's Degree in progress in Athletic Administration, Marketing, Public Relations or other related field. Successful candidates will exhibit excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills, willingness to work evening and weekend hours, a desire to work in sports, previous experience in marketing/promotions and have strong computer skills. Candidates should also have advanced experience with Photoshop and/or basic video editing systems. A working knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.
Compensation: This is an 8-month appointment that would begin as soon a possible with the potential to continue into the following school year. Housing is provided along with $4,000 in compensation, paid biweekly, throughout the duration of the appointment.
