In conjunction with the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance & Student Services, administer the implementation, monitoring and maintaining strict compliance with all policies of Division I NCAA rules and regulations, Atlantic 10 rules and regulations, and VCU rules and regulations.
Responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day financial aid operations. Additionally, incumbent will assist with amateurism, and playing and practice seasons for 17 intercollegiate sports; conducting team meetings and administering NCAA compliance forms each academic year; data entry and maintenance of information entered into the NCAA’s Compliance Assistant program; assisting in the development and presentation of educational materials for meetings with coaches, staff, and student athletes; assisting in production of reports, handbooks and the compliance manual.
Must have an advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required. Two (2) years of related experience at an NCAA Division I intercollegiate program required, with at least one year beyond a graduate internship. Knowledge and experience with NCAA, Financial Aid, and eligibility rules required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to perform accurate detail oriented work and communicate effectively with a diverse population. Experience with Microsoft Office software and the NCAA’s LSDBi and Compliance Assistant software required.
