Visit Albuquerque, a private not-for-profit corporation, seeks an individual with demonstrated sales skills to sell Albuquerque as a premier event destination in the area of sporting events.
Prospecting, creating, developing and maintaining professional relationships with sports clients in an effort to solicit new business and generate new qualified leads for hotel and venue distribution.
Present and maintain a strong brokerage role in the planning and negotiation process for each client throughout the entire lead process. Maintain the goal of bringing client, hotels and venue to definite agreement.
Makes written or personal presentations to boards of directors, event planners, event attendees or site selection committees across the United States as needed in order to win Albuquerque's selection as event site and by attending tradeshows
Works to achieve established sports marketing sales goals and ensures progress and ultimate achievement of goals through collaboration with the sports marketing sales team.
Solicits and coordinates hotel and convention center cost projections, and organizes facilities packages for event planners' consideration.
Attend local industry events including FAMs and encourages client attendance.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree plus 1 or more years of sports related sales experience within the hospitality/sporting event industry or equivalent combination of education & experience. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to develop strong client relationships. Computer proficiency and ability to learn industry specific software required Willingness to work irregular hours and travel out of town to trade shows & networking meetings required.
