The Office of Academic Support Program for Student Athletes at North Carolina State University supports the recruitment, retention and graduation of NC State student-athletes; provides a comprehensive support system that affords NC State student-athletes equitable opportunity to pursue academic, personal, and professional development and to strongly adhere to the principles of integrity, excellence, and lifelong learning.
This position will function as an Athletics Eligibility Coordinator operating from within the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes and report directly to the Assistant Dean and Director. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the coordination of continuing academic eligibility for all student-athletes; coordination of the academic evaluation of incoming transfer student-athletes; serving as the primary liaison with the Admissions Office; serving as a key liaison to the NC State Athletics Compliance Office; coordination of the Eligibility Team meetings; monitoring of the incoming list of student-athletes; data collection for the NCAA Academic Progress Rate and the NCAA Graduation Success Rate and Student Athlete Federal Graduation Rate. This position also provides regular trainings to coaches, faculty and staff on the admissions process, continuing eligibility, and the NCAA academic rates; Coordination of the continuing academic eligibility of all student-athletes, maintaining detailed and accurate electronic academic eligibility files for all student athletes, daily monitoring of eligibility issues, monitoring of the incoming admissions list, timely and accurate communication with coaching staff regarding the admissions process and progress of student athletes, coordination of the evaluation of incoming transfer student-athletes, data collection process for the APR, GSR and Student Athlete Federal Graduation Rate. Managing and fulfilling requests for data from NC State’s Athletics Compliance Office and the NCAA. Must possess ability to work effectively both as part of a team and individually.
Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
Three years experience working in Compliance, Academic Support for Student-Athletes, or in a role with primary responsibilities including the eligibility certification of student-athletes at the Division I level.
Must be knowledgeable of NCAA rules/ regulations, with specific emphasis on those impacting academic eligibility and transfer rules.
Master’s degree preferred. Experience with Compliance Assistance Software, proficient use of excel spreadsheets.
