ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 30% - Coordinates the activities of the athletics video and broadcasting staff for the production of live and on-demand content, which includes but is not limited to: 1. Supervises the athletics video and broadcasting office, including hiring, training, and scheduling, to ensure coverage of all required games, practices and event; 2. Produces live, multi-camera broadcasts of athletics contests, ensuring all broadcasts fulfill conference regulations and production standards; 3. Manages relationships with external broadcast partners such as ESPN3 in the preparation and production of live broadcasts and related on-demand content; 4. Handles video coverage for practices as requested; 5. Handles live and/or on-demand video coverage of various events such as press conferences, special announcements and special events; 6. Provides requested specialty content to be used during games on video boards and/or during press conferences, special announcements and special events; 7. Produces motivational and/or hype videos for all programs for various internal and external uses; 8. Manages the setup, management, in-game direction and upkeep of all video boards at athletics facilities. Make sure to troubleshoot any issues with the video boards in timely fashion; 9. Works collaboratively with other external affairs staff on the creation and timing of video board content to be displayed during games and other special events; 10. Trains for undergraduate and graduate student staff to serve as camera operators and/or others roles on the production staff to work games, practices and other special events.
20% - Coordinates the video needs for all sports outside of Football and be willing to assist with the video needs for Football as needed; 1. Manages the video coverage (shooting and editing) of home athletics contests; 2. Manages the video coverage (shooting and editing) of practices for designated sports for use by the coaches for review and analysis; 3. Manages the organization and maintenance of video footage for teams through sport-specific editing software.
15% - Assists with the creation of graphics and digital imaging for the athletics department. This includes, but is not limited to: 1. Overall look and design of the video displays at home athletics venues; 2. Splash pages for tulanegreenwave.com; 3. Recruiting projects for all programs; 4. Special projects for the athletics department.
10% - Assists with IT support for the athletics department. Serves as the main contact for minor IT issues and acts as liaison for large scale issues. Also acts as liaison for all computer orders. Provides client support for PC, Mac and mobile devices.
5% - Manages the video sharing need following selected athletic contests in a timely fashion, which includes, but is not limited to: 1. Upload athletic contests immediately following selected contents, or upon immediately returning to campus, per conference rules; 2. Download contests of future opponents as requested in a timely fashion; 3. Edit incoming video, as requested, for use by coaches; 4. Coordinate video exchange requests for out-of-conference opponents.
5% - Oversees the management of athletics video archives, ensuring that seasonal and historical footage is properly stored and organized.
5% - Manages the budget of the athletics video department, including planning for long-term equipment needs, developing specifications and soliciting quotes for hardware, software, infrastructure and repair. Oversees the upkeep, repair, maintenance, storage, and management of the multimedia department’s computer and video editing systems and other departmental video equipment and related hardware and software.
5% - NCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
5% - Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director, Strategic Communications.
