Virginia Commonwealth University, Department of Records and Registration is currently seeking a qualified Assistant Registrar for NCAA Eligibility.
The incumbent coordinates the comprehensive student-athlete certification program at Virginia Commonwealth University to ensure that all athletes competing in organized NCAA Division I sports at the university are eligible for competition under current NCAA and Atlantic 10 Conference guidelines. Coordinates multiple enrollment projects required of Records and Registration. Manages the non-degree overload and eligibility projects to ensure that students are properly enrolled in accordance with university policies.
The selected candidate must have a demonstrated ability to grasp the complicated NCAA rules and regulations, as well as federal and state guidelines dealing with privacy rights is required. Ability to use PC systems, including Word and Access for NCAA eligibility tracking is required. Must be able to reason logically and maintain accurate records. Must communicate well both orally and in writing. Must be able to work well with the public and university administrators. Ability to work in a diverse environment is required. University experience in Records & Registration or in Athletics preferred. Experience with Internet-Native Banner (INB) or a similar student system is required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant training and experience.
