Responsible for planning and implementing diversified strength and conditioning programs for FSU intercollegiate athletic teams based on determined needs, time, and facility limitations. Creates individual instruction on proper exercise techniques and safe and proper use of equipment for student-athletes. Instructs athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement. Administers testing protocols and evaluates results. Supervise activities and instruct athletes in the proper usage of strength and weight training equipment. Assists with the management of departmental strength training facilities. Oversees schedule and development of volunteer coaches. Assists with property inventory, purchase of equipment, preparing portions of budget, and selection and order of apparel. Assists with on campus recruiting of student-athlete prospects.
A Master's degree and one year of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.
Requires CSCS certification through NSCA and/or SCCC certification through CSCCa. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in design and application of conditioning programs. CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend hours.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
