The primary role of the Athletic Facilities/Operations Graduate Assistant is the Management of Athletic Fields including but not to limited to mowing, painting, aerification, overseeding, clay work, irrigation and care for artificial fields.
They will oversee gameday setup and teardown for assigned athletic events; assist with the maintenance of athletic facilities; assist with setup and management of MVC and NCAA Championships. Will also assist in game management for assigned sports, meet officials, visiting teams, etc.
4-year Bachelor's degree in sports, turfgrass science or related work experience and enrolled in ISU Master's program.
Knowlege of turfgrass care, equipment, and procedures is preferred.
Must be able to work nights/weekends during peak seasons.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Use memory, reasoning, analying, logic, verbal and written communication. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: Crawling, Kneeling, Squatting, Bending, Stooping, Twisting, Sitting for sustained periods of time, Standing for sustained periods of time, Walking, Driving, Lifting Above Waist, Lifting Below Waist, Heavy Lifting - More than 50 lbs, Carrying, Pushing/Pulling, Climbing Ladders, Climbing Stairs, etc. Working outside in varying temperatures/weather.
