The JET Program is currently seeking a qualified track and field coach to serve as a Sports Exchange Advisor in Shizuoka, Japan!
JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) is a competitive employment opportunity that allows young professionals to live and work in cities, towns, and villages throughout Japan. Being a JET is an opportunity to represent the United States as a cultural ambassador to Japan. Through the JET Program, Sports Exchange Advisors (SEAs) work to foster international exchange through the universal language of sports.
Sports Exchange Advisors (SEAs) work for local governments, coaching and promoting internationalization in Japan. SEAs are sports professionals whose role is to assist with sports training and the planning of sports related projects.
Coaching middle school after-school track and field clubs
Teaching Physical Education classes in local public schools
Assisting with the implementation of community activities related to track and field
Have U.S. citizenship.
Be mentally/physically healthy.
Excel at track and field and have 3 years of coaching experience and/or a recognized coaching certificate/qualification.
Be interested in Japanese culture and willing to learn Japanese.
Be adaptable and flexible.
¥3,360,000 in the first year
Transportation to and from Japan at the beginning and end of contract
Enrollment in the national health insurance
Annual and sick leave will be determined by the Contracting Organization
