Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the head coach will be responsible for the organization and management, and development of the women's lacrosse program. This individual must have strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills in order to teach/coach, recruit and work with others both inside and outside the college.
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following functions; which are not listed in any particular order of importance and significance: RECRUITING - Develop and execute an effective recruiting plan to reach agreed upon recruiting and competitive goals for the team - Identify prospective student-athletes qualified for admission to Rosemont College - Effectively communicate with prospective student-athletes and coordinate recruitment efforts with the athletic department's Recruiting Coordinator & Rosemont's Office of Admissions Athletic Liason.
COACHING/STUDENT-ATHLETE EXPERIENCE - Demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to develop, technical sport skills, strategies and philosophy - Promote student-athlete welfare and provide appropriate mentoring to student-athletes and assistant coach
PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION - Operates within all College, Colonial State Athletic Conference and NCAA DIII guidelines - Schedule practices & games (in conjunction with athletic department Scheduling Coordinator). - Maintain inventory of equipment, uniforms, and supplies - Carry out team travel according to established policies and procedures ? inclusive of travel/meal sign-off and receipts - Produce required information as it pertains to the team to Assistant Director of Athletics for compliance purposes, and the Sports Information Director for statistical, website management and promotion/publicity - Regularly (~3 weeks) meet with Assistant or Director of Athletics as assigned, and attend monthly coaches meetings - Be present at all CSAC in person or conference calls: preseason, awards, and postseason (as they relate to each sport) - Comply with all mandatory reporting or film exchange as required by CSAC - Coordinate all fundraising activities for the program - Effectively communicate with the Department of Athletics staff and the College community on matters pertaining to the program - Operate within all College, CSAC and NCAA Ill guidelines
SUPERVISION - Identify, hire, train and evaluate assistant coach(es) (including volunteers) and manager(s) (as applicable) - Ensure that assistant coach/volunteer adhere to all College, CSAC and NCAA III guidelines
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent required, Master's degree preferred Two to three years' experience in coaching-college level or significant experience at the high school/club level, or equivalent required and/or collegiate playing experience. Ability to recruit quality student-athletes to a strong academic environment Ability to effectively teach and coach student-athletes in both a team and individual setting A commitment to providing a positive role model and leadership to the team Excellent communication skills Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of people in a manner that positively portrays the College and its programs, personnel, and philosophies AED, CPR, and First Aid certified Must possess a current driver's license and a driving record insurable by the College's insurer Successful clearance of a criminal history record check
