About Mount Aloysius College: Located in historic and scenic Cresson, Pennsylvania, Mount Aloysius College is a member of the NCAA Division III and offers student athletes a choice of 14 varsity sports including men’s and women’s teams for basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, and tennis. MAC also fields men’s baseball and women’s bowling, softball and volleyball. The College just announced the addition of Women’s Lacrosse with the goal of fielding a competitive team in the spring of 2019. Mountie student-athletes enjoy fields for softball and soccer as well as a baseball complex and outdoor tennis courts. Within the past five years, the College added dugouts, lockers, showers, a press box and concession to our outdoor athletic infrastructure. On the western edge of campus sits the Athletic Convocation and Wellness Center (ACWC), an 84,700 square foot multi-purpose facility. Completed in 2013, the ACWC added a main gymnasium with event seating for over 2,500, a full sized auxiliary gym and a state-of-the-art Wellness/Workout Center for the campus community.
Current Opening: The Head Coach is responsible to create and build the women’s Lacrosse program from the ground up through effective strategies and planning that promote the program and recruit/retain student athletes. As Senior Women’s Administrator, this position is an integral member of the Athletics Management Team and will monitor/adhere to compliance program requirements; lead student athletes in successfully balancing academics and sports; advocate issues of importance on behalf of student athletes, coaches and staff; and coordinate community services and game management. The incumbent will be a role model and resource for student athletes and coaches.
This full-time, 12-month (year-round) position will require broad engagement with the Mount community and an established network to advance the development of the lacrosse program, along with academics, recruiting and community service.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management, recreation, health, or related field required. Minimum of three (3) years coaching experience preferably at the Collegiate level. Must be knowledgeable of NCAA Division III philosophy, rules and regulations pertaining to women’s lacrosse. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills also required.
