Position Summary The Head Football Coach will:
Administer all facets of the football program in accordance with the University of the Incarnate Word, the Southland Conference, and the NCAA
On-the-field coaching during practice and competition
Responsible for the evaluation, hiring and supervision of the entire football staff
Administration of the operating and fundraising budget for the football program
Formulating and implementation of pre- and post-season conditioning programs
Coordinate with academic services to promote and monitor the academic development, progress and graduation of student-athletes
Develop rules/regulations regarding the conduct of the football staff and student athletes
Demonstrate the ability to recruit quality student-athletes, develop, retain and graduate student-athletes
Represent the University during fundraising and other civic events
Participation of team and staff during community service programs
Sponsor or obtain sponsorship to participate in and conduct football camps/clinics
Working closely with the training staff to ensure the health and safety of student-athletes
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Must exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes. Must be a team player, and have the ability to support and assist other employees. Must be dependable and have strong customer service skills. Must be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education Bachelor’s degree.
Required Work Experience A minimum of 5 years football coaching experience is required.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Work Hours Various hours including nights and weekends.
