Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts invites applications and nominations for a full-time 10-month position as Head Men's Lacrosse Coach.
Coaching Responsibilities: Create and manage all aspects of a Division III men’s lacrosse program, including but not limited to recruiting, coaching, practice organization, player skill/leadership development, and supervision of assistant coach(es). Encourage academic and athletics excellence and adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the College, NCAA and New England Collegiate Conference. The successful candidate will recruit for one academic year (2017-2018) prior to the inaugural men’s lacrosse season which will be Spring of 2019.
Athletics Office Responsibilities: Coordinates and oversees the operational process for home game management of all sport programs by supervising event management during home games, assuring that all work study staff are onsite with sufficient supplies and equipment and ready to perform their duties.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sport Management or related field and CPR/AED certification is preferred. Demonstrated experience coaching and recruiting at the collegiate level as well as knowledge of Division III rules is also preferred. Experience in student-athlete leadership development programming is highly valued. All candidates should possess an understanding of the role Athletics in Division III with an ability to identify and attract outstanding students. Valid driver’s license is required.
