The head football coach at the University of South Alabama will be responsible for supervising, planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision program. Grounded in the principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct, the head coach is expected to conduct and manage the program in accordance with University of South Alabama, Sun Belt Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Specific responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: providing leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student athletes; assessing, recruiting, and developing talent; coordinating all day-to-day aspects of the program such as practice organization, game preparation, strength & conditioning activities, and other team-related meetings/workouts; coordinating with athletic academic services to promote and monitor the academic development, progress, and graduation of student-athletes; managing the fiscal and budgetary functions associated with the football program; participating in development activities as an active and engaged member of the university and local community; hiring and supervising the conduct, performance, and activities of assistant coaches and support staff members; performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama; minimum of three years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level; employment will require applicable background checks.
The position is full-time (12 months) administrative appointment with a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
