This position is responsible for the strength and conditioning programs for all varsity athletes at California Baptist University. This person implements, conducts, and monitors strength and conditioning; assists with rehabilitation of injured athletes; assists in management of strength and conditioning facility. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION WORKING 20 HOURS PER WEEK.
Other duties may be assigned. 1.Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department. 2.Develop and implement successful sport specific strength and conditioning programs for all sport programs, in cooperation with the head coach of each specific sport. 3.Direct all pre-season, in-season, post season, and summer strength and conditioning programs in accordance with NCAA bylaws and procedures. 4.Supervise/oversee/manage weight room facility to include budget operations, scheduling, and maintenance of strength and conditioning facilities. 5.Instruct student-athletes in proper training techniques, speed development, plyometrics, and assist with injury rehabilitation and recovery methods. 6.Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to NCAA, university and conference rules and regulations is required. 7.Develop and enforce weight room policies. 8.Assist in department education of nutrition and banned substances. 9.Organized and analyze physical performance testing. 10.Lead and motivate student-athletes to maximize their polential. 11.Remain current on all trends, methods, and innovations related to strength and conditioning. 12.Be present and punctual for all workouts with student athletes (Any change in a scheduled workout must be approved by the head coach of each sport.) 13.Keep records of all equipment in the weight room. 14.Maintain up-to-date records on the strength program of each team and specific individual workouts of every student-athlete. 15.Return all phone calls and emails to head coaches and administrative staff promptly. 16.Coordinates student-athlete rehabilitation with sports medicine; assists with rehabilitation of injured athletes and approves return to play. 17.Understand and help facilitate the athletic department mission statement. 18.Attend Athletic Department bi-weekly meeting for head coaches. 19.Maintain up-to-date information of rule changes and NCAA policies. 20.Report any compliance issues regarding countable athletically related activities (CARA) or student-athlete welfare. 21.Adhere to all institutional, conference and NCAA by-laws and regulations. 22.Ensure the physical, emotional, and social welfare of student-athletes. 23.Establish and ensure a safe environment for student-athletes.

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and five (5) to seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. National Strength and Conditioning Association certification required. NCAA experience preferred.
