Allegheny College, a member of the NCAA Division III and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), is currently seeking applications for an Assistant or Associate Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, ten month (assistant position) or twelve month (associate position), renewable annual appointment with comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary. The Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer reports to the Director of Sports Medicine and is one of a three member staff in cooperation with a supervising team physician and the health center team.

The athletic trainer will assist in providing a full range of athletic training services to 21 Division III varsity teams, including but not limited to injury prevention, practice and game preparation, camp/clinic coverage and support, injury care and treatment, contest management including possible travel; assist with all aspects of athletic training room operation including insurance claims, planning and management of physical screenings, development of training sessions for student first aid providers, supervision of students and student staff and participation in other departmental assignments. All members of our department have additional responsibilities outside of their primary role. The successful candidate may be asked to serve in the area of wellness, fitness training, or strength and conditioning as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications include: NATA-BOC Certified and CPR and First Aid certified. The candidate must be BOC certified and licensed or eligible to hold a license by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Instructor rating in CPR and First Aid would be beneficial.The individual must have a commitment to DIII athletic and liberal arts educational philosophy, excellent communication and organization skills, demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, ability to supervise student staff and respond to student needs, and commitment to sport and gender equity within a rigorous academic environment. Bachelor’s degree is required and a Masters is preferred (required for associate).
