The Department of Athletics is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Executive Athletics Office. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Athletic Director.

The purpose of this position is to provide critical administrative and operational support to the Athletic Director and Deputy Athletic Directors within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Administrative Assistant provides and assists the department’s Executive Leadership Team and other assigned staff with organizational and administrative tasks that include, but are not limited to: generating meeting agendas, tracking meeting minutes, assisting in various human resource/contract processes and assisting with NCAA/PAC-12 committee tasks as assigned. This position works in an environment that is sensitive and highly visible. This position will take on various NCAA compliance functions as necessary. The Administrative Assistant position will effectively make departmental policy recommendations and update departmental policies and procedures as needed. This position will be privy to confidential information and assist assigned administrators with calendar management and meeting travel and preparation. Weekend and evening work may be necessary, as will the need to occasionally travel.
Bachelor's degree in field of choice.
Three (3) years of full-time experience in an increasingly responsible executive, administrative or operations support role in collegiate athletics.
Ability to collect, analyze and present data to various audiences (you will be asked to submit a work sample as part of the application process - see the "Special Instructions to Applicants" section).
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, activities and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding sensitive information.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience working with a diverse population.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Experience working in an NCAA Division I, II or III athletic department of support unit; or experience as a former Division I, II or III student-athlete.
Experience in event management.
Experience in human resources management.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
