The Business Manager/Parker Center Coordinator reports to the Director of Athletics. The primary responsibilities and duties of this position are to manage the financial operation of the Athletic Department and coordinating events in the Carl Parker Center. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following. 1. Assists with special events. 2. Assists in security for the building. 3. Performs other duties as assigned. 4. Knowledge of NJCAA bylaws. 5. Possible assignment of teaching PHED classes. 6. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in related filed is preferred. Requires three (3) years of related experience. Requires experience with financial management applications, reporting and databases. Previous work experience in a college athletics department is preferred. Experience and training can be substituted for education.
Manages all business functions for the Athletic Department, including some clerical work and game management activities. Manages the department’s financial workflow, provides financial training to staff. Works with various campus departments. Monitors cash flow and expenditure activity. Coordinates with I internal and external groups and campus departments on rental of campus facilities and supervises those events.
Ability to work in a high-energy environment. Knowledge of Banner software and Word, Power Point, and Excel. Skill in the use of a personal computer. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to deal with public in a professional, courteous manner. Ability to understand and perform complex oral and written instructions with little or no supervision. Ability to work in occasional stressful situations. Ability to perform detailed work rapidly and accurately.
High degree of communication skills, written and spoken. Ability to deal with students, faculty and staff in professional manner. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to promote a positive campus image. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others. Ability to follow established college policies and procedures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, kneel, bend, and twist upper body. The employee must regularly carry and lift up to 10 pounds, and move up to 15 pounds.
Occasional travel to seminars or training.
