Provide oversight to all Campus Spirit Programs including but not limited to; Cheer, Competitive Cheer, Dance, Spartacus Mascot Program including both game day involvement, as well as community interaction, “The Wall,” Fine Arts Involvement, Game Day Promotions, Activities, and Entertainment. Additionally, places a major role in Homecoming activities and the Annual Spartan Hall of Fame Banquet.

Coaching Responsibilities: - Plan, organize and conduct practices and athletic training programs that will result in highly competitive Spirit Program. - Teach advanced level skills and strategies. - Establish and enforce standards of conduct and behavior for team members. - Remain current with and utilize successful coaching strategies and techniques.
Academic Support: - Develop and regularly monitor the academic status of each player; develop programs or services to support and encourage academic success. - Develop and implement a strategic plan that will insure academic success and result in acceptable retention and graduation rates for student-athletes.
- Serve on campus committees and task forces as requested by the President and/or Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics.
Team Administration: - Ensure compliance with all university, AMC Conference and NAIA rules by team coaches and student-athletes. - Prepare competitive schedules and present for approval within deadlines requested. - Manage, assign, and oversee all administrative tasks related to home contests and events; schedule competition & facility, hire officials and other support personnel, equipment set-up; communicate and coordinate game management responsibilities with the Manager of Athletic Operations.
- Coordinate all game day activities and work with other departments to ensure an overall successful and entertaining game day fan experience. - Plan & lead retreats, discipleship opportunities, student-athlete and parent meetings. - Hire, supervise, and conduct performance reviews of assistant coaches, volunteers, or term workers. - Initiate disbursement of scholarships to student-athletes within NAIA and university guidelines through university approval process. - Establish and regularly monitor all aspects of the budget, including requisitions, travel expenses, and other purchases; ensure compliance with all university purchasing and budget regulations; complete monthly reconciliation of charge card expenses to the Manager of Athletic Operations. - Coordinate maintenance on all equipment for the spirit teams and mascot program. - Attend departmental staff meetings and special events; provide leadership and support for departmental activities and efforts.
Recruitment Responsibilities: - Responsible to develop and oversee a successful recruitment program of student athletes for Cheerleading; identify and recruit highly skilled athletes within the rules, policies and procedures established by the university, AMC and the NAIA.
- Maintain quota and coordinate recruitment efforts as assigned by the Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, along with other key campus constituents. - Coordinate the development of recruitment materials; approve final products. - Develop a campus visitation program for prospective student athletes and their parents; maintain close communication with prospects and their parents throughout the recruitment process. - Coordinate recruitment activities with representatives from the Office of Financial Aid and the Office of Admissions. - Make final determination of scholarship offers to student athletes; staying at all times within the regulations of NAIA, AMC, and the Department of Athletics.
