The College of William and Mary, an NCAA Division I member of the Colonial Athletic Association, is hiring for an hourly staff position in our Equipment area. This person will provide support in the purchasing, maintenance, issuance, fitting and inventory of all equipment and apparel for the football program and various other sports, and will provide laundry services to athletic teams.They will also provide support for specific athletic events, practices, games and recruiting visits. This is a restricted position subject to availability of funding.
Preferred qualifications are: • Post high school classes, education, training. • Athletics Student Manager experience. • Knowledge of football and football practice operations. •Ability to meet the requirements to take the AEMA certification exam within a year of employment.
Conditions of employment are: • Daily work schedule may vary with working hours primarily mid-mornings to early evening. Occasional weekend hours may be required. • Ability to maintain a valid drivers license and attend any required W&M van and/or safety training. •Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, lift up to 50lbs., to constantly lift, push, pull and carry items on a routine basis, walk up and down stairs, inclines and hills on a daily basis. • All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve month period beginning May 1 each year. • This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
