Coaching, Coaching - Soccer
The Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club has an immediate opening for a Director of Coaching (DOC) that oversees all soccer-related activities and the development of the club, its teams, coaches, trainers and players. The DOC shall develop, operate and oversee programs for all levels of play and is responsible for all aspects of soccer operations within the club. The DOC shall act as an ambassador for the club and promote the interests of the club at all times.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated passion for motivating young people to do the hard work of being the best they can in all aspects of the game and life. Our Club has the resources and commitment for helping both its players and coaches reach their full potential in a positive and respectful environment.
The DOC is responsible for all soccer operations keeping with the Club’s mission, including but not limited to hiring and supervising coaches, maintaining current programs, managing the club’s schedule and annual calendar, maintaining field permits, overseeing tryouts and player placement, setting club priorities, and identifying opportunities for new initiatives.
Experience coaching soccer at the youth level
Ability to relate to and communicate with young players of all levels, from rec to select
Possess a player development philosophy that is in line with the Club's mission statement
Demonstrate and model leadership qualities for staff coaches and players
Proven ability to influence adults and articulate concepts to large audiences
Be responsible and professional in all interactions
Possess integrity, with high moral and ethical standards
Strong interpersonal skills, with solid written and verbal communication skills
Possess the organizational and technical skills necessary for managing people, planning schedules, communicating policy, etc.
Commit to working a non-traditional schedule, including afternoons, nights and weekends
USSF A License or equivalent preferred

In 1949 the Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club was born. The club was formed and became one of the earliest teams in the New York City area. The newly formed soccer club competed in local leagues in the area against rival social clubs.
The Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club won the US Open Cup in 1979 and in 1991.
The club hosts two major US tournaments, the Christopher Columbus Cup and the New York C...ity Indoor Classic. In the past few years the club has grown exponentially in the New York City area and the brand grown in popularity. The first team participates in the National Premier Soccer League. The club finished in first place in the Atlantic Division in 2011 and 2013. The club placed second in 2010 and 2012. The youth sector competes in the New York Club Soccer League. Our teams travel yearly to the Dallas Cup, Vincenzo Romano Torneo in Rome and many other tournaments.
