The position will coordinate the study table/tutoring program and administer academic counseling for intercollegiate student-athletes; provide individual developmental short-term and long-term academic guidance counseling services to student-athletes on multiple teams; advise student-athletes to ensure academic success and timely graduation. Within this capacity, work with the university's academic units in conveying institutional, college, school, and major requirements and strategies for achieving academic excellence and persisting to graduation. Complete specific projects assigned by the assistant athletic director for academics. Work collaboratively with other athletics academic advisors.
Salary: Hourly $19.76
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F some evenings
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Two years' experience in student support services in higher education.
Demonstrated experience in collegiate athletics, student programs or counseling setting.
Experience addressing academic counseling, career counseling, athletic eligibility, study skills, time management, and personal issues with NCAA Division I student-athletes.
