NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics
Position: Assistant Director of Human Resources. 12 Month, 100% Academic Professional Appointment
Primary Position Function/Summary: The Assistant Director of Human Resources will provide analytic review on salary, taxation, and reporting, and contribute to a variety of human resources and employment policies and functions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: General Responsibilities: 1. Assist Executive Senior Associate Director of Athletics – Business Affairs with analysis and development of coaches multi-year employment agreements and amendments 2. Assist and advise Executive level staff in the annual budget process as it relates to salary analysis 3. Create ad hoc reports using report writing tools to query the data warehouse. These reports are used by the department for management purposes, and to interact with outside organizations (LEAD1, B1G, etc.) in providing survey data and information 4. Facilitate and provide guidance regarding labor relations issues 5. Oversee taxable benefit analysis and determination of reporting requirements for single-game, season, and event tickets, gifts, dealer cars, football bowl travel and other taxable non-cash benefits provided by DIA to employees and non-employees 6. Oversee the DIA Employee Handbook, maintaining periodic updates, and advising on related policy issues 7. Develop and implement orientation for new hires to the department, and assist with post-hire logistics 8. Serve as DIA Unit Security Contact and Departmental Card Manager, collecting information on individual employee security access, p-card and t-card usage and maintenance 9. Serve as an active member of the Department’s Diversity and Inclusivity committee 10. Assist with academic professional searches (from Head Varsity Coaches and Executive Senior Athletic Directors, to Assistant Coaching positions and support personnel) including administration of all necessary processes and procedures. 11. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required.
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Starting Date: As negotiated after completion of search.

Education: Required Bachelor’s degree in business administration, athletic administration, human resources or related field required.
Preferred Master’s degree in same fields of study
Experience: One to three years experience in sport management or administration, either at the collegiate or professional level.
