The University of Connecticut is seeking qualified applications for a paid Graphic Design Assistant Internship in its marketing office. Reporting to the Coordinator of Graphic & Digital Design, the Graphic Design Assistant will help implement and expand on the creative vision of the UConn Athletics brand, creating compelling content for a variety of channels.
Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conceptualizing and producing quality visual content for marketing and communication objectives such as social media graphics, advertisements, digital design elements, templates, motion graphics, posters, and other collateral; adhere to University brand standards; assist in establishing the creative direction for campaigns; and perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field, or an equivalent combination of related college coursework and experience may be considered; professional experience in graphic design; an online portfolio showcasing relevant work in visual graphics (required with application); high proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator; strong knowledge and skill in typography, color theory, current trends and best practices; ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames; and outstanding organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Experience and skill in Adobe After Effects and motion graphics; photography and photo editing experience; and experience within a college or professional sports setting.

Appointment Term This position is a 12 month appointment with a compensation of $26,640. Following administrative review, the position may be renewed for a second term.
