UC Riverside Athletics invites applicants for the position of Athletic Marketing, Promotions & Ticket Sales Intern. This position will assist the Assistant Director of Athletics - Marketing & External Affairs with increasing the overall visibility of UCR Athletics through marketing, promotions and sales efforts. Please note, this is a part-time internship position scheduled to work approximately 30 hours per week for 10 months (mid-August - mid-June). Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Athletics - Marketing & External Affairs, with additional direction from the Director of Campus, Community & Fan Engagement – Intern will assist with all areas related to the daily and game day ticket operations of the Athletic Ticket Office. In addition, this position will support call center operations, email correspondence, and other duties assigned. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: •Duties include ticket sales and operations for all ticketed events. •Provide customer service to University and general public for a variety of events with effective decision-making skills. •Knowledge of office management practices and procedures. •Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and details efficiently, often with numerous interruptions. •Excellent oral and written communication skills. •The work environment requires that the incumbent communicated courteously, following customer service standards to customers and co-workers under stressful circumstance. The work must be performed within time constraints, meeting delivery schedules and internal deadlines. •Physical ability to type at a keyboard and use a computer terminal for up to two hours at a time, several times a day.

ABOUT UCR ATHLETICS: The UC Riverside Highlanders (UCR) represent the University of California, Riverside in Riverside, California in intercollegiate athletics. UCR field fifteen teams including men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, and track and field, softball, volleyball, and baseball. The Highlanders compete in NCAA Division I, and are members of the Big West Conference.
Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management/Administration, Sales, Business or similar.
Graduate this spring or no more than 2 years prior.
Strong computer literacy in Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong in written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills.
Must demonstrate the following: a strong work ethic; effective time management skills; attention to detail; organization; responsibility, flexibility, and maturity.
Must possess the ability to: self-motivate; work in a fast-paced environment; accept direction and constructive criticism; adapt to change and work on multiple projects.
Knowledge of or experience with ticket sales, event management, ticketing database/software.
Previous internship experience.
Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and FinalCut
Experienced in social media platform usage
In addition to regular office hours, the qualified candidate must be available to work the majority of UCR’s home athletic contests, as well as other events assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director, Marketing and External Affair
