Reporting to the Director of Athletic Compliance and the Office of the General Counsel, the associate director will provide support of day-to-day operations involving NCAA/Big Ten/WCHA compliance at the University of Minnesota. Responsibilities will consist of providing direct support to a variety of sports programs which will include, initial eligibility, continuing eligibility, interpretations of NCAA legislation, and waiver review. In addition, the individuals will supervise the internship program’s work with document review, compiling reports, assisting in creating educational documents, data entry and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree. At least five years of experience in athletic administration, athletic compliance or equivalent, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Job candidates will also have the ability to work independently as well as strong organizational and time management skills. Ideal candidate will possess a high level of integrity, reliability, and ability to work with confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications:Masters or law degree; three years’ experience in Division I athletic compliance; experience with NCAA Legislative Services Databased, Compliance Assistant, and JumpForward Compliance software.
The Athletic Compliance Office, which reports to the General Counsel, works with the entire intercollegiate athletics program to achieve compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Big Ten Conference and Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) rules.
