Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training, the Athletic Trainer is responsible for the professional care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation of student-athletes with athletic-related injuries at a Division I intercollegiate athletic program.
-Serve as primary caregiver for assigned sports
-Attend all practices, as well as home and away contests for assigned sports
-Assist in daily operations of the John Godbold Athletic Training Room
-Serve as instructor for athletic training students
-Supervise daily activity of graduate assistants
-Communicate regularly with Team Physician
-Provide injury updates to Strength & Conditioning coaches, coaches of assigned sports, and other administrators when necessary
-Assist with various events and programs that require athletic training personnel
-Follow NATA Code of Ethics
Master's degree in athletic training or a related field required. One year of experience working in a collegiate training room setting required. NATA-BOC certification required. Eligible for South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control certification. Demonstrated ability to analyze and treat athletic injuries. Ability to care for student-athletes on men and women’s teams. Ability to work with staff, student-athletes, and coaches from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
