Lafayette College is accepting applications for the position of Equipment Department Intern. This position is part-time (10 months) with salary commensurate to qualifications and experience.
This position will assist with all operations of the Equipment Department including, but not limited to, daily football laundry, daily field set-up and breakdown, facilitating use of the Headset communication system for home and away contests, assisting with team travel arrangements, equipment preparation for practices, assembling student staff, inventory control, limited ordering of equipment, football team travel, creation of maintenance plan for capital products and equipment, meeting with vendors to discuss new products/maintenance, daily maintenance and replacement of protective equipment and hosting visiting teams as assigned.
•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations.
•Preferred experience as Student Equipment Manager or Equipment Manager with Football.
•Working toward AEMA Certification by end of 10 months.
•Ability to work a full week and weekends/holidays as needed.
•Ability to lift 50 lbs.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
•Strong communication, writing skills and attention to detail.
•Demonstrates a passion for the profession as a whole.
•This position will require work on nights and weekends.
