Title: Assistant Director of Athletics for Development Contract: Annual, Renewable Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000 Union Affiliation: Not applicable. Reports To: Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, and Recreation
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Department’s development, fundraising and marketing activities, and initiatives.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Functions •Oversee the identification, cultivation, involvement, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects including individuals (athletic alumni, friends, corporate, and private foundations). •Lead, organize and motivate large groups of volunteers towards a specific goal. •Oversee integrated fundraising events (auctions, banquets, golf tournaments, etc.). •Support other institutional development and alumni initiatives. •In conjunction with the College’s Development and Alumni Office, update and maintain the Institution’s donor-directed data base software. •Oversee and manage department’s athletic booster organization. •Develop, manage and supervise other fundraising initiatives as directed by the Director of Athletics.
Occasional Job Functions •Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director including interacting with the college’s development and alumni staff.
This is a Rhode Island College Foundation position. This is a full-time, calendar year position. REQUIRED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Preferred: • Demonstrated leadership and success in fundraising with a strong background in athletic development. • Successful, progressive, experience in fundraising and marketing for intercollegiate athletics in an educational setting.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: • Proficiency with personal computers. • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills. • Valid license to operate a motor vehicle.
