Executive, Executive - Associate Athletics Director
Duties may include but are not limited to: Coordinate communications between Appalachian State Athletics and media including arrangements for interviews, press conferences, pitching stories, preparing press releases, etc. Coordinate activities required to accommodate national and regional televised events occurring on campus including distribution of press credentials, facilities arrangement, etc. Supervise the writing and editing of Appalachian State Athletics publications. Provide content for Appstatesports.com web site. Oversee archiving of digital images and other Appalachian State sports related information. Supervise and produce written report content to promote App State. Provide orientation to student athletes regarding media relations. Organize staff and formulate budget for Sports Information office. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field with eight to ten years of experience.
This job requires advanced knowledge of public and media relations and communications, especially as they apply within a major intercollegiate athletic organization. Additionally required are analytical and organizational skills and expertise in marketing, promotions, website content development, editing, and publication production. Use of office and specialized computer applications are required.
