Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach will work with the head coach to direct and oversee all aspects of the Division I women’s tennis program that competes in the Mountain West Conference.
The incumbent will identify, recruit, retain and develop student-athletes that will deliver a winning program to USU. The assistant coach will work under the direction of the Head Coach and will be responsible for the discipline, conduct and image of student-athletes. The assistant coach will closely work with the Head coach to evaluate and monitor all aspects of the athletes’ performance and make technical, tactical and mental adjustments when necessary. The incumbent will assist the Head coach in evaluating mental strengths and weaknesses of athletes; have knowledge of the differences in individual motivation and personality and strategize assessment and treatment of the individual athletes accordingly. The incumbent will coordinate with the head coach to prepare a budget for review and ensure program operates within parameters; ensure compliance with policies and rules; build positive relationships with internal and external constituents. The incumbent preferred to have Division 1 coaching and playing experience. This position shall have a strong working knowledge and understanding of all NCAA rules and regulations regarding compliance issues. Violation of a conference or NCAA regulation, as well as those policies of the university, could create negative publicity and jeopardize the University in conference or NCAA standings. Violations by employees will be documented and dealt with on an individual basis and can be cause for dismissal.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal abilities, including encouragement and motivational skills.
The ideal incumbent will have sufficient experience with international tennis formats and institutions and have an established international network for recruiting purposes.
Additional Salary Information: This is a full benefits position with a salary of $32,000 with opportunity to generate additional income at the Sports Academy Indoor facility.
