The University of Akron, A Division I (FBS) Institution and member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), is seeking applicants for a part-time Coordinator of Academic Support Services for Student-Athlete Programming.
Responsibilities: •Provide oversight of the Student-Athlete Programming in the areas of career and personal development and community services •Plan and coordinate a variety of student-athlete activities and events •Establish and maintain relationships between the department and outside agencies for the purpose of developing community outreach opportunities for student-athletes •Coordinate and supervise the Student-Athlete Advisory Council •Assist with the leadership development opportunities for the student-athletes •Coordinate and plan programming for the personal development of the student-athletes (includes workshops, career planning events and community service)
Required Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree •Minimum of two-years’ experience in planning and coordinating events and programming, preferably in Athletics •Computer skills including word processing and database capabilities •Knowledge of university policies, NCAA and MAC rules and regulations preferred
