The Nueva School seeks an experienced cross-country and track & field head coach. Well-qualified candidates will be motivated, energetic, positive, and passionate people with experience coaching athletes from beginner level to college recruited. Candidates will be interested in designing a comprehensive running program, including summer training and off-season workout opportunities. They will be team-oriented and open to collaborating with coaches across divisions. Prior collegiate running experience is highly valued, though not required.
Centrally located on the Peninsula, Nueva is a PK-12 school that draws from six different counties around the bay area. Its runs an athletic program for grades 4-12, with over 100 athletes participating in cross-country and track programs in the Middle and Upper School. This position provides the opportunity to develop talent and bolster participation across grade levels. The Upper School cross-country program has experienced great success in its short four-year history, capturing 2 PSAL league titles (boys and girls), a CCS Championship (girls), and a third place finish in CIF Division V (girls). Nueva competes in the following bay area high school athletic leagues: PSAL (cross-country) and WBAL (track & field), and is a Positive Coaching Alliance partner school.
· University undergraduate (or higher) degree
· Successful athletic and/or coaching experience in secondary school and/or university
· Positive, entrepreneurial, can do results orientation
