Position Function: Player development and perform other assistant coaching duties.
Perform duties in all areas of the program at the direction of the head coach, athletic director and/or sport supervisor.
Develop, in conjunction with the head coach, planning of practice sessions and competitive coaching situations. Assess and evaluate talent and recruitment of athletes into the program; includes contact by telephone and mail; off campus evaluations; on campus visits. Develop scouting reports and pre-competition evaluations of opponents. Work in conjunction with head coach to implement fund raising opportunities on a yearly basis. Monitor all academic progress, in conjunction with academic support staff. Provide support with all Ball State Softball camps and clinics. Show commitment to and responsibility for adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference, and the NCAA; pass the NCAA certification examination on an annual basis. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by date of appointment.
Experience: Collegiate playing experience at a competitive level and/or college coaching experience.
Other: Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the university’s auto fleet policy.
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience: At least two years of collegiate coaching experience.
