Director of Zips Digital Network The University of Akron Akron, OH
The University of Akron’s Athletic department is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Director of Zips Digital Network. This position will be responsible for producing content for and direct in-game/in-event video board and LED operations and will oversee all facets of Zips Athletics on-campus ESPN3 productions in accordance with MAC and ESPN3 guidelines. Collaborates with other athletic departments to promote the various sports teams.
Responsibilities: •Produce content for and direct-in-game/in-event video board and LED operations and oversee all facets of Zips Athletics on-campus ESPN3 productions in accordance with MAC and ESPN3 guidelines. •Produce and direct coach's shows for broadcast television. •Manage the department’s official YouTube channel: Akron Zips. •Collaborate with the communications, marketing and corporate sales office to create content for promoting UA's 18 Division I teams, including highlights, features, advertisements, promotions, interviews, graphics, sponsorship fulfillment, etc. •Manage the Zips Digital Network staff of one video production intern, student staff, outside contractors and necessary game day staff.
Requirements: •A relevant bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in sports video production at the collegiate level or in the television or other mass communication mediums required. •Prior experience with audio and video editing programs. •Previous experiences as a digital videographer required. •Knowledge of various post-production tools and live production set-up, equipment and software. •Ability to work with on-air talent for various athletic contests and video packages. •Ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously. •Strong organizational, interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer services required. •Ability to work flexible hours, including events and weekends. •Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA Conference and University rules required. •Knowledge of the University’s IT options and tools including but not limited to Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL, and Active Directory structure
