You will help publicize the University’s 42-sport Division I athletics program through a variety of print, web, social media and multimedia methods to a broad base of constituents. You will have responsibility for sports as assigned. You will:
•Handle media and public relations functions;
•Plan and direct publicity efforts, including multimedia, digital, and social media strategies for promoting your assigned sports; •Design, write and edit sports information guides, game programs, special event publications and press releases;
•Educate coaches and student-athletes on effective methods of media interaction;
•Recruit, hire, train, and manage student workers and game-day staff.
Ideally, you have:
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, sports management, journalism or related field;
At least 3 years of work experience in athletic communications/ sports media;
Strong organizational, writing, interpersonal and communication skills;
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe CreativeSuite. Knowledge of StatCrew.
