Manhattan College, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for the vacant position of full time Assistant Baseball /Pitching Coach.
The successful candidate will assist the Head Baseball Coach with all aspects of the Manhattan baseball program. The successful candidate will work to develop a positive atmosphere for the program both internally and externally to the athletic department and College. Must be committed to assist in managing the program within the guidelines of the NCAA, MAAC and Manhattan College Department of Intercollegiate Athletic policies and procedures and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Must demonstrate the ability to recruit, coach and improve (teach) talented student-athletes. Demonstrate the ability to market and promote Manhattan College baseball program. Must exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student athletes and staff. Must be a team player, and have the ability to support and assist other employees. Develop a positive atmosphere for the program both internally and externally within the athletic department and College.
Description of Job Duties:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, game scheduling, direction of practices and implementation of game strategies, assisting in the successful management of the men's baseball budget, fundraising, supporting student-athlete academic success, and assisting in developing championship teams while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Ability to communicate in a positive manner with student athletes, staff parents, and alumni; strong organizational and planning abilities with excellent oral and written communication skills; a working knowledge of computer programs and systems.
Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred, previous playing experience as a collegiate or professional pitcher and or one to three years of baseball pitching coaching. General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, NCAA policies and compliance issues
