Position Details: This position will serve as an assistant to both the Athletics Academic Services (AAS) office and the Deputy Director of Athletics. Primary duties will be to enhance, create, implement life-skills opportunities and programming for current student-athletes, including the Hawkademy (leadership academy) and wellness (mental/physical) initiatives; assist with the degree completion program and mentor degree completion and graduating student-athletes; assist with policies, procedures and additional administrative reports.
Major duties and responsibilities: * Coordinate/implement life-skills programming, with the potential to create and implement additional programming (summer programming for incoming, alumni communications). This includes the leadership academy (Hawkademy) for student-athletes; creating a curriculum using Habitudes for Athletes, facilitating sessions, group exercises and small group discussions. This also includes organizing all life skills programming for student-athletes, creating the promotional items and calendar/schedule materials for both programs. This position coordinates annual professional speakers/presenters (twice per year)..
*Meet on a regular basis with student-athletes participating in the degree completion program and graduating student athletes. Mentor them on the graduation process and transition from college to career/post grad opportunities.
*This position serves as a secondary liaison for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), providing leadership education and development opportunities to that group and assist with the group's programming needs.
*Create the quarterly Athletics Academic Services newsletter. Utilize GradesFirst software to assist in student-athlete monitoring and meetings.
*Assist in the planning, development and implementation of diversity and gender equity initiatives as requested or needed by the Deputy Director of Athletics.
*Assist with Student-athlete Handbook and Policy & Procedure manual updates.
*Strong administrative, verbal/written communication skills, including effective public speaking skills.
*Passion for student-athlete welfare and education.
*This position will work with diverse populations.
*Must have a commitment to NCAA compliance and follow all NCAA, conference and UND rules and regulations.

Two years experience in college athletics (as student athlete, coach, staff, etc.)
One year work experience related to student programming or education
Valid Driver's License
Successful completion of Criminal History Records Check
One year work experience in NCAA (Division I or II) level athletics department
