Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and establishing and monitoring budget. May plan, assign, and supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Assist with initiating and reviewing transfer student-athlete eligibility verification forms; Responsible for monitoring transfer worksheets
Provide consistent and frequent communication with Senior Associate Athletic Director for Academics, Director of Initial Eligibility, coaches and, athletic academic advisors about the academic eligibility status of prospective student-athletes
Responsible for assisting with researching, drafting and tracking initial-eligibility waivers and legislative relief amateurism waivers
Work in collaboration with athletic compliance and athletic certification to ensure proper procedures and processes
Assist with recruiting activities as needed; Guide prospective student-athletes through pre- TTU admission process, as appropriate
Assist with managing prospective student-athlete information cards (PSA Cards); Prepare and provide preliminary academic evaluations of prospective student-athletes
Assist with monitoring and evaluate prospective student-athletes' eligibility requirements; Maintain records in compliance with Texas Tech University, Big 12 Conference and NCAA standards
Assist with official visit approval process, updating and maintaining Texas Tech University's institutional request list (IRL)
Regular contact NCAA Eligibility Center in regards to academic and amateurism certification and provide updates to Director of Initial Eligibility, athletic academic advisors and coaches, as appropriate
Assist with monitoring initial-eligibility progress for all prospective student-athletes; Research and review amateurism information for international prospective student-athletes; Research and monitor delayed enrollment issues
Prepare necessary reports and updates for coaches and staff
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in area of expertise or closely related area required. Three years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing programs/projects or research grants. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, sport management, higher education or related area; A minimum of one year experience in an initial-eligibility role
