The New York Red Bulls are one of 20 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). They are one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its founding in 1996. They currently play their home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. RBA, a state-of-the-art 25,000- seat stadium widely regarded as the top soccer-specific stadium in North America. The club is owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The first team features 2014 MLS Golden Boot Winner Bradley Wright-Phillips, U.S. international Sacha Kljestan, and several players with USMNT experience. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
YOUTH TRAININGS PROGRAMS INFORMATION:
The Red Bulls Training Program is a multi-layered system that provides professional support at all levels of the game. Each level of the player development pyramid has been structured to provide extensive support to players, coaches and youth soccer organizations. Within the local community, programs are offered for players of all ages and abilities. For players with outstanding ability, there is an opportunity to progress to the academy level, USL Pro, and ultimately to the Red Bulls First Team.
POSITION PURPOSE: (Position summary)
The Training Programs Regional Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of an assigned region in support of the Regional Manager for that region. The role comprises a balance of office and field based coaching administration support and education. The Regional Coordinator will be the main point of contact for trainers and club coaches, supporting Red Bulls standards of highest quality client service. This position will help ensure all program operational and logistic elements are effectively managed to ensure successful execution of all programming. A Regional Coordinators weekly schedule will consist of approximately twenty (20) coaching administration hours and nine (9) on field coaching hours during the winter, spring and fall seasons and an average of fifteen (15) coaching administration hours and fifteen (15) on field coaching hours during the summer season.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)
Manage, support and track completion and quality of coach administration tasks. This includes training session plans, seasonal development plans, player evaluations and end of season team and club reports.
Manage and implement assigned coach’s seasonal training schedules. Track coaching hours and assist with arranging cover where required.
On-field liaison with club partners reporting back to Regional Managers on all aspect of club development and operations.
Provide support and oversight in operation of camp and clinic programs
Assist with managing quality, accuracy, and delivery of trainer sessions. Provide feedback and assessment to coaches. Assist with planning and delivery of staff education meet
On field coaching approximately 9 hours per week.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Minimum of NSCAA Advanced National or USSF C License
Strong understanding of the season to season youth soccer market
Minimum of one years’ experience coaching within RBTP programming including experience as a senior coach.
Ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the existing RBTP’s RedPrint to Player Development.
In-depth youth player development understanding and coach development best practice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills required
Comfort and experience interfacing with various levels of staff and management
The New York Red Bulls Youth Programs are the grassroots player development and training system for New York Red Bulls professional soccer team. Operating as RBNY Academy the player development structure is used to provide soccer training to young players in the local communities, support club development and to scout and develop talented youth players. The overall youth player development set up... comprises a reserve team, academy teams, regional development schools, and grassroots youth training programs. The grassroots training programs are the foundation of our youth developmental pyramid and provide seasonal training programs and summer camps to over 40,000 players each year. Within our grassroots programs we employee over 100 coaches annually who work with players ages 5 to 16 years.
