The Old Dominion Athletic Foundation (ODAF) is seeking applications for the Athletic Development Officer - Major Gifts (full-time, 12-month) position. This position will identify, assess, cultivate, and solicit major and planned gifts for the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation’s (ODAF) fundraising initiatives including capital campaigns, scholarships, endowments and program support. This position will also assist in growing ODAF Membership and securing leadership gifts that support ODU Athletics and our student-athletes.
Required Education: Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with experience that equates to a master’s degree.
Required Qualifications: Considerable progressive experience in athletic development or related field including major gift fundraising. Experience in prospect tracking and management. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate the athletic fundraising objectives to all constituents through personal visits, direct mail campaigns and special events. Ability to develop close working relationships with all constituents, both internally and externally. Ability to work well in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fundraising campaigns.
